Jim Vena, AGDM ’97,  has been appointed to the Transportation Technology Center, Inc. (TTCI) Board of Directors.  Jim is the vice president and chief operating officer of Canadian National Railway, based in Montreal Quebec.  Jim joined CN in 1977 and has served in several operating and marketing positions. JasonJason Fox, MBA ’01, has accepted a position; he is now the director of the oil and gas group at Evonik Industries, one of the world’s leading specialty chemical companies.

SallySally Ginter, MBA ‘09, is the new president and CEO of Kerry’s Place Autism Services, a move which took her from Kelowna, British Columbia to Aurora, Ontario.

BartBart Szopiak, BMgmt ’09 – now works for the City of Edmonton as a strategic coordinator.

 

 

 

 

Stefan

Stefan Vasilev, MBA’ 10, has accepted the role of director of engineering at ZCL Composites in Edmonton. Stefan has been with ZCL since 2009 and is now responsible for all engineering and project management activity.  The company is the biggest global provider of fiberglass tanks and containment solutions for downstream gasoline markets and upstream petroleum processing markets.

 

 

Andy Oliveira

Andy Oliveira, BMgmt ‘11, is now a recovery specialist at IKEA Canada.  Andy is  based out of Edmonton, Alberta.

 

 

 

 

StormyStormy Marshall, BMgmt ’12, has accepted the position of secretary II with Alberta Health Services.

 

 

 

 

Derek BlakeDerek Blake, MBA ’13,  has taken on the role of chief compliance officer with RBC Insurance.

 

 

 

 

Deanne Chaulk, MBA ’13,  has been appointed vice president, personal banking by BMO Bank of Montreal for Western Newfoundland and Labrador.  Deanne will assume leadership of a team of some 90 professionals who serve customers through BMO’s network of 13 branches in Western Newfoundland & Labrador.  Go to the press release »

 

Golnaz120x140Golnaz Golnaraghi, DBA student, was a guest speaker at TedxMilton 2013 this month, where she presented her topic,  “From silence to voice: Embracing my hybrid identity.”   TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.  These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.  Golnaz was thrilled with the experience, saying it was one of the best in her professional life.  About Ted and Tedx »
