These are the program learning goals (PLGs) for Faculty of Business MBA graduates. They are simple expressions of powerful skills that are systematically embedded throughout the MBA program. The MBA PLGs are reviewed on a regular basis so that they can evolve and change as the needs of business leaders evolve in our rapidly changing world.
MBA Program Learning Goals
This goal involves your ability to identify, analyze, and solve higher-order business problems. It includes distinguishing the problem from its symptoms, using reliable information sources to inform decisions, weighing alternatives, and coming up with a solution that can be implemented.
To demonstrate competence in ethical reasoning, you will need to recognize ethical issues; identify and apply decision alternatives among different ethical values and frameworks; and assess the concerns of multiple stakeholders within a global context.
You will demonstrate how you would apply an awareness of self and others to guide shared change in an organization. You will be asked to provide responses to leadership dilemmas that indicate your ability to motivate others while being visionary, honest, and respectful.
To show that you can work effectively in a team to solve a business problem, you will communicate in a meaningful, open, and tactful manner; help to create a positive and effective team climate; be active in planning and facilitating team projects; and demonstrate your commitment to the team’s success.
You will demonstrate that you can prepare effective business documents reflecting English language proficiency in coherent, focused, and organized writing; well-researched content and use of evidence; following the conventions of format and citation; and careful final editing for grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
