While there is no question that an Executive MBA is a large financial commitment, the potential rewards are many: increased credibility, mobility, job satisfaction, and income.

Canadian Student Financing

Please note this information is for Canadian students only. If you are an international student, please enquire in your home country.

The Athabasca University Executive MBA program is recognized as a full-time program by the Canadian federal government for individuals applying for student loans.

Many banks offer options for financing your education. The following are just a few - check with your own bank as well, to see what they can offer you.

You can also consider using some of your RRSP funds for your education.

  • ALL TUITION FEES ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE IN CANADA. At AU, text books are included in tuition and will be included in your annual tuition tax credit.
  • Students enrolled in the AU MBA are considered “full-time” by Revenue Canada for every month enrolled in a course. In most cases, this will result in a $400 per month tax credit.

Corporate Sponsorship

Speak to your employer about sponsoring all or at least part of your program, as they will benefit directly from your new knowledge and skills. An AU online Executive MBA is an excellent investment for both of you.

If you are creating a proposal, below are some points you can use to help make your case.

AU Online Executive MBA - Benefits for Employers

Why sponsor an AU online Executive MBA for your employee?

Nurture talented professionals in your organization — develop their strategic management skills, draw out their leadership potential, renew their sense of purpose, and reap the benefits.

Global Perspectives

An AU MBA online classroom connects experienced managers from across Canada and around the world, from every sector and virtually every industry—students who specialize in human resources, operations, marketing, information technology … in roles from middle manager to CEO to entrepreneur. Your employee works, discusses and debates with this rich peer group and top academics, and then brings fresh thinking and creativity back to your organization.

Powerful Interaction

Asynchronous online course delivery allows for in-depth, well thought out discussions in which every voice is heard and diverse perspectives are shared on a daily basis.

No Down Time

AU’s proven online course delivery system provides a superior management education without requiring students to take time off work to attend classes.

Immediate ROI

Our Executive MBA curriculum requires students to apply concepts to projects and assignments based on their own workplaces. You gain a direct return from their very first course.

Increased Job Satisfaction

Applying new knowledge immediately means achieving more sooner, in turn leading to an increased sense of accomplishment, higher motivation, and renewed sense of purpose on the job.

Work-Life Balance

The flexibility of AU’s online program helps students balance the demands of home, life, career and MBA studies. Our students can study at night, early in the morning, on weekends — whatever works best for them.

Quality Online Learning

The Athabasca University Executive MBA has been ranked among the top three Executive MBA programs in Canada (Canadian Business, 2001) and among the top 75 Executive MBAs in the world (Financial Times, UK, 2003, 2004, 2006). The AU EMBA was the only online MBA to make the list. In 2012, AU’s online Executive MBA appeared in the Financial Times list of online programs offered by “48 of the top business schools” from around the world.

Incredible Value

While the Athabasca University online Executive MBA offers a curriculum equal in rigour and depth to Canada’s finest ‘bricks and mortar’ EMBA programs, our tuition is less. You recoup your investment faster.

Easy Mobility

If you need your employee’s talents in another town or even another country — for a week, month, year or even permanently — their online MBA program can go right along with them.

Take advantage of this opportunity to possibly fund part of your studies.
